The Retail Operations side of the Blacks Leisure Group has become unrecognisable over the last 18 months. We’ve got new leadership, new rewards structures, new retail sales methods, four new concept stores and a plan to role out more. Most importantly of all, we’ve got a whole new ethos – to become the outdoor arm of fashion. Managing one – or a group of – our 400 stores is an exciting prospect at the moment.
Bonus
We’re continuing to pay our Area Managers the best bonus the high street has to offer. It’s not based on targets – but on being one of the top three performers in the team of six within your geographical area. Over the year, you can almost double your salary. Store and Town Managers have also been given a new bonus structure to ensure they feel engaged and rewarded for their help in turning this business around.
Development
Development prospects are equally good. We’ve created the unique role of Town Manager. It’s the perfect stepping stone between Store and Area Manager. As well as allowing you the chance to increase your responsibility incrementally, you’ll also get to work across more than one retail brand, whether that be the pairing of Millets and Blacks or O’Neill and Freespirit. Equally exciting is our Manager Development programme. We work with all our Area Managers to perform an in-depth assessment and establish who has the potential to be a director of the future.
Who we’re looking for
Your history of impressive sales generation proves you’ve got the commercial drive we’re looking for. You also have plenty of initiative. Not only do you know what needs to be done to get results – you know how to inspire those around you to do it. If you’ve also got a fashion background, that would be ideal. But hunger to succeed is the really essential factor.
